Have you ever met someone who’s sort of a repetitive downer? They’re a grab-bag of complaints, a depressing one-trick pony that only knows how to talk about one thing, which is quite simply everything that’s wrong in their life.
Of course you’ve met that person. We all have. And we’re here to make sure that person doesn’t happen to be you …
THIS WEEK, WE WANT YOU TO KNOW:
APPLY IT TO YOUR OWN LIFE:
Being human is sort of exhausting sometimes.
It’s a blessing and a curse that we have so much brainpower. We have this amazing ability to analyze everything … which is great, if you’re using that power well.
But so many of us are using our own power against ourselves.
Lately, we’ve heard multiple clients (who’ve become really good at analyzing their own issues) ask, “What is wrong with me? Why can’t I change? Why is this so hard? Why can’t I fix myself?”
To which we said, “What if you’re looking at this entirely backward? What if you’ve gotten so used to saying it’s hard and identifying with your struggle that you’ve forgotten that you’re not broken, it doesn’t have to be so difficult, and you and your struggle are two different things?”
In short, “What if the only thing that’s keeping you stuck is the fact that you keep talking about how stuck you are?”
It’s pretty easy to experiment with this. We’d recommend that you stop complaining for a week. Seriously. If you drop the dialogue about everything that’s “wrong,” you’ll have enough SPACE and brain power for ideas, inspiration, and energy that are actually helpful in moving you forward.
The only thing “wrong” with you is your insistence that you’re broken. #ClarityGems

WHAT #CLARITYGEMS ARE ALL ABOUT:
Sometimes it’s just better to avoid long blog posts and cut straight to the point!
Think of #ClarityGems as your weekly shake of the good ‘ole Magic 8 Ball … you never know what might bubble up and how it might be exactly what you need to hear today.
And instead of just a beautiful, inspirational, and shareable image (which is a nice start), we’re giving you some quick thoughts about how to interpret it … because inspiration without action is pretty, but kind of anti-climatic.
Tweet it, share it on Instagram, or forward it along to someone who needs to hear it today … and tag us (@ClarityonFire) to let us know how this Gem is inspiring you!
Much Love,
Kristen + Rachel
Hi Kristin & Rachel,
I’ve been reading your blog on and off now for almost a year. I find your Claritygems to be helpful especially as I am trying to figure out if I want to stay in my current career or pursue something entirely different. I recommended your blog to some of my friends that are also trying to figure out there career paths.
Thank you both for providing clarity!
