As life & career coaches, we have the kind of job that (if you didn’t know better) you might presume meant we were always happy, pleasant, and full of energy. (Ha!)

This is not un-true, exactly, but it’s also not the whole Truth of the matter …

[hr style=”1″ /]

We’re human. As are you. Which means that we, and you, are going to have weird days. You know the kind … maybe it’s inexplicable melancholy. Or anger for no apparent reason. Or feeling “over it all” before the day even started.

Sometimes, you can’t even pinpoint why you feel like crap. And other times, you know exactly why you’re feeling low.

It doesn’t totally matter if you know the reason behind the feeling. But what does matter (as in, this is deeply important) is that you allow yourself to ride the wave of how you feel.

In other words, you have full and complete permission to experience whatever you’re feeling, until you don’t need to feel it anymore.

Heartbreak, sadness, anger, whatever. It’ll pass naturally if you don’t try to ignore it, suppress it, or otherwise pretend it doesn’t exist. So feel it! Rant to a friend. Curl up and watch Netflix. Have a solid cry session.

When you express your low vibes in whatever way feels cathartic, it will work its way out of your system.

And eventually, you will get sick of yourself. That’s how you’ll know you’re ready to move on. The venting, the pampering, and the crying that felt really good and really necessary yesterday starts feeling a bit ridiculous and excessive today.

Sometimes it’s just better to avoid long blog posts and cut straight to the point!

Think of #ClarityGems as your weekly shake of the good ‘ole Magic 8 Ball … you never know what might bubble up and how it might be exactly what you need to hear today.

And instead of just a beautiful, inspirational, and shareable image (which is a nice start), we’re giving you some quick thoughts about how to interpret it … because inspiration without action is pretty, but kind of anti-climatic.

Tweet it, share it on Instagram, or forward it along to someone who needs to hear it today … and tag us (@ClarityonFire) to let us know how this Gem is inspiring you!

Much Love,

Rachel + Kristen

  1. This is exactly how I have been feeling ALL day…I haven’t stopped crying or venting yet. Maybe tomorrow I will be over it. NOT! It has been an excruciating day. Thanks for the post.

  2. SOOOO nice to be given permission to feel shit!! and to be able to vent! I always feel angry and frustrated and embarrassed if I feel like crap. Most of the time it’s hormone-related, I think. But so many people don’t give you permission to feel crap. I often wish there was a peaceful, quiet space outside of reality people who are feeling like crap could go to vent and let it all out, then return to the real world. I suppose sleep is the nearest place! lol.
