Far be it from us to tell you what you can and can’t do. Live and let live, and all that.

But … may we make a strong suggestion?

THIS WEEK, WE WANT YOU TO KNOW:

something new

APPLY IT TO YOUR OWN LIFE:

How often have you found yourself living “in the mean time”?

You know … it’s the stuff that isn’t really what you want, but it fills the space until you get the real deal.

It’s the people you date un-seriously, while hoping Mr. or Ms. Right is around the next corner.

It’s the job you stay in “one more year” … or at least until you figure out your next move.

It’s the clothes in your closet you never wear, but never find yourself giving away, either.

The space-holders feel harmless. But what if they weren’t? What if they were taking up all of the room that you need for the real deal?

So, what if you purposefully let go of what’s not working … and didn’t try to replace it?

It might feel vulnerable and exposed and decidedly uncomfortable. In fact, we’re almost sure that it will. But (and this is a big “but”) … it also makes a hugely powerful statement: “I’m ready, available, and serious about what I want.”

When you’re filling space, you’re sending mega mixed-messages. You’re saying, “I do, but I don’t, but I do …” over and over again.

But if you’re just available, you’re only saying: “I do.” No confusion, all clarity. And now, the real deal knows where to find you.

How is this #ClarityGem sitting with you today? Leave us a comment on the blog to let us know!

WHAT #CLARITYGEMS ARE ALL ABOUT:

Sometimes it’s just better to avoid long blog posts and cut straight to the point!

Think of #ClarityGems as your weekly shake of the good ‘ole Magic 8 Ball … you never know what might bubble up, and how it might be exactly what you need to hear today.

And instead of just a beautiful, inspirational, and shareable image (which is a nice start), we’re giving you some quick thoughts about how to interpret it … because inspiration without action is pretty, but kind of anti-climatic.

Tweet it, share it on Instagram, or forward it along to someone who needs to hear it today … and tag us (@ClarityonFire) to let us know how this Gem is inspiring you!

Much Love,

Kristen + Rachel

THE PPVE IS BACK NEXT WEEK, TUESDAY THE 19TH

There’s no better time of year than right now to get clear on what your passion is and how to actually do it.

2016 could be a very different year than you expected, in the best way.

We hope you’ll join us for our first round of the Passion Plan Virtual Experience this year, which opens for enrollment next Tuesday, January 19th. (Grab a $50 discount code to use during enrollment, on our VIP page.)

There’s nothing quite like the sheer relief of not having to think about it or figure it out on your own. Weight, lifted.

  1. This is basically what I was talking about when I said I couldn’t choose anything at all and have to have it all, like a little nest of eggs under my wing! I give myself no room for saying yes to the right thing when it comes along!

This is hitting me square on the head today, wow.

    Now what?

    1. Lily, you’re right, there’s such a feeling of security that comes from holding on to all the things! But it’s totally a false sense of security because it’s actually blocking the new stuff from flowing in.

I love your question, “Now what?”

Now comes the really uncomfortable, vulnerable part … letting go of things and NOT replacing them. You’re going to want to resist this part — that’s totally normal! But leaving the space open and empty for a while will make you totally available for whatever great stuff shows up next. It just may not show up instantaneously, so your job is to get as comfy as you can with the in-between.

  2. Wow! This was just what I was dealing with right now, right here. I have a job… a family, chores… and I end up being tired and ‘filling’ my own little amount of time with TV and comfort food. And I know when I do take time for myself (beg or borrow) and do things I love, I get energized. Thank you for the reminder!

    1. I’m glad this is so relevant for you right now, Tricia!

Keep in mind, too, that it’s perfectly OK to spend a few minutes at the start of your precious “me time” checking in with yourself to ask, “What do I REALLY want/need right now?” Instead of immediately jumping into filler-activities as soon as you have some breathing room (TV, junk food, mindlessly scrolling online, etc.), taking 5 minutes to just sit and check in with yourself can open up space for you to feel inspired about you’d really love to spend that rejuvenation time.
