This one may strike a nerve with some of the touchier people out there … so here’s hoping you’re not one of those who’s easily offended. (Don’t you always want to tell those people, “ugh, just get a hobby”? They don’t seem to have enough to do … which is ironic, because that’s exactly what this #ClarityGem is about.)

THIS WEEK, WE WANT YOU TO KNOW:
APPLY IT TO YOUR OWN LIFE:
Liz (author of Eat, Pray, Love and Big Magic, which comes out this September) wasn’t exactly trying to throw shade at bored people when she said this.
There’s nothing inherently wrong with being bored … either intermittently, or even chronically. No one would expect you to suffer at a dull job or to twiddle your thumbs day after day, pleasantly wasting your life away.
She was commenting on the people who talk about how bored they are … and how absolutely mind-numbing that is to listen to on repeat.
There is so much in this world to do! (And we’re not talking about mindlessly scrolling through Instagram, people.) More books than you could ever read or write. More art than you could ever make or see. More beautiful cities than you could ever fly to. More possibilities for changing your life than you could know what to do with … if only you’d do something and stop complaining about how bored you are.
I think what Liz was saying, in a tough-love sort of way, is “Kindly shut up. If you have the luxury of being bored, you also have the luxury to do something about it.”
And if what’s stopping you is the fact that you don’t know what you’d fill your time with because you don’t really know what you want out of life … there are ways to figure that out, too. (That’s why we’re here, of course.) There’s no good excuse for being chronically bored … or boring.
“I’ve never met a bored person who wasn’t also boring.” –Liz Gilbert #ClarityGems

WHAT #CLARITYGEMS ARE ALL ABOUT:
Sometimes it’s just better to avoid long blog posts and cut straight to the point!
Think of #ClarityGems as your weekly shake of the good ‘ole Magic 8 Ball … you never know what might bubble up and how it might be exactly what you need to hear today.
And instead of just a beautiful, inspirational, and shareable image (which is a nice start), we’re giving you some quick thoughts about how to interpret it … because inspiration without action is pretty, but kind of anti-climatic.
Tweet it, share it on Instagram, or forward it along to someone who needs to hear it today … and tag us (@ClarityonFire) to let us know how this Gem is inspiring you!

TWO BIG THINGS ARE COMING UP!
1. The Passion Plan Virtual Experience (but everyone just calls it the PPVE!) is opening for enrollment again NEXT WEEK … on Tuesday, September 15th at 1pm Eastern.
This is the online experience where we guide you through figuring out your passion and taking action in 4 weeks. It’s always one of the most well-loved, popular things we do, and we aren’t doing it again until 2016. Get on the VIP list if you’d like a $50 discount code when it launches!
2. We’re doing a FREE live hangout, too: “How to find a job you LOVE … that loves you back!” Also on Tuesday, September 15th.
If you can’t join us live, no worries. You can register anyway and get emailed the recording, afterwards.
We’re going to give you the BEST of what we know (it’s the same insights that have helped hundreds of people get clear on what they love and how to find it) … this stuff is gold, and you’re gonna love it!
Much Love,
Rachel + Kristen
