In times like these, it can be especially hard to tune into your intuition and receive guidance. Fear and uncertainty create a LOT of noise, both internally and externally! And, ironically, it’s exactly when we’re most afraid and unsure that we most need to be able to receive wisdom and inspiration.
Back in April, we started doing regular “Message from the Universe” episodes to help get us through the pandemic. While we stopped doing them regularly a few months ago, we promised they’d be back at random, probably when you most needed a little encouragement!
So, if you’re having a hard time getting calm, quieting your mind, and tuning in lately (understandable, if so!), we hope this message will give you an extra boost of guidance today.
We pulled 3 cards from our classic Rider Waite Tarot deck today. One or all has a message for you! 🙂
Here are the cards we pulled for you, along with their descriptions:
Queen of Pentacles:
Are you feeling the serenity and security of taking care of business AND taking good care of yourself? Are you able to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor? Are you sharing those fruits generously with others, whether they be financial, or in the realm of practical knowledge? Then you are feeling the down-to-earth, practical, and nurturing energy of the Queen of Pentacles.
In the classic Rider Waite imagery, a lone woman sits serenely, holding a large gold coin, surrounded by lush forest. Flowers spring up at her feet, and a rabbit, the symbol of fertility and Spring, leaps into the frame from behind her golden throne.
When the Queen of Pentacles, the queen of the suit of money and material resources, appears, look for a protective, caring and practical person who helps foster others, figuratively or literally. Is it you, or someone around you? Either way, when a Court card shows up in our reading, and in our lives, it’s because we’re meant to encounter this aspect in ourselves.
The Queen of Pentacles is a provider, whether she is bringing home the bacon, doing literal charity work, or pointing out the talents and potentials of others to help them succeed in their own right. She is sensual, secure and generous, a real “earth mother.” She has more than enough and she’ll share it with you. Let the Queen of Pentacles help you discover and cultivate your skills, then pay the blessings forward.
When we find that extremes have failed us, and we must pursue a more moderate, patient path to find happiness, we have encountered the energy of Temperance.
An androgynous angel (actually, a hermaphrodite — the child of Hermes and Aphrodite, representing the ultimate unity and complementary nature of the genders) pours water from one cup to another, the water rising impossibly from the lower glass to blend with the higher. Temperance is all about mixing, moderation and reaching understanding by meeting in the middle.
Here, we meet our higher, more magical selves who can defy gravity. Leave excesses of all kinds behind for now — you’ll find more peace and joy when you see life as a flow, rather than a puzzle to be assembled or a problem to be solved.
Often, Temperance shows up when we seem to encounter the same relationship, issue or problem over and over again in our lives. Temperance asks us to stop looking outward for the answer, and look to ourselves.
Imagine you have a friend who keeps getting fired from jobs, and every time he blames his boss. They all have it out for him. Or a friend who keeps dating the same type of person, but she always blames them for the bad relationships, rather than recognizing her own pattern.
Simply observing and acknowledging your own unhelpful or unhealthy patterns can go a long way toward dissipating them. See the golden crown glowing above the path in the background of the card? Your victory is assured when you invoke inner peace even amidst present turmoil. Balance can be yours, if you desire it. You are not your surroundings. Draw from your inner well to see magic happen.
Queen of Swords:
It’s time to speak truth to power, light the way for others, and point out the lack of the local patriarch’s clothes when we kneel at the throne of the Queen of Swords.
A fair woman with a serious expression faces an unknown audience, the wind at her back. She wears a crown of golden butterflies, a symbol of her mental attainment and continuing evolution. Her right hand holds a sword, its point aimed straight into the clear blue sky; her left hand is raised, a beckoning or invitation.
This Queen of words invites discourse and debate in order to get to the heart of the matter; but she will speak her truth, and doesn’t mind cutting cords to do it. Assertive, determined, guarded, and a master strategist, she will skillfully cut through any bullshit and guide you to the truth.
When the Queen of Swords appears, look for someone around you who is sharp, intelligent, witty, and perhaps a bit guarded due to hardships from her/his past. The Queen of Swords is sharp, naturally – and though she may reserve her emotions quietly, she is a force to be reckoned with. Imagine the electric energy provided by a dam containing the primal force of immeasurable waters. This Queen channels her emotions through her quicksilver, rapid-fire mind to generate enormous energy and change.
Invoke the Queen of Swords when you must stand up for yourself, take the high road, or win a verbal dispute. Accessing your emotional power from a calm, logical perspective gives your enormous leverage. The winds of change are at your back.
