Welcome to another episode of Dear Krachel, a monthly advice segment where we answer audience questions about life, career, relationships, existential angst, and anything that helps you become a more whole, fulfilled version of yourself.
On this episode, we’re answering questions from:
- Sera, who is anxiety-ridden and depressed at her day job and knows she wants to take a creative risk and publish her written work, but is paralyzed by fear at every turn — of failure, embarrassment, and success. How can she get out of her own way?
- Bianca, who recently quit a toxic job without anything lined up. All she wants to do is rest, but she can’t afford not to work. How does she revamp her energy after being through hell and back during her last job?
- Laura, who wants to try new things, but holds herself back by saying “not yet.” On the other hand, she knows a lot of people who jump at EVERY idea, and they don’t seem any better off. So, how can we take action while avoiding either extreme (not enough, or too much)?
- Amanda, who can’t decide between 3 career options that seem equally appealing and achievable, in their own ways. How do you get over the fear of picking the wrong thing?
After you’ve listened, leave us a comment to let us know if our advice for these three ladies resonated with you, too.

I feel like my mind has constantly been expanding and my outlook on life has slowly been reformatting with each podcast episode that comes out. I think this was my favorite Dear Krachel (even more than the one where you answered my question) because each question was relatable to a specific time in my life.
I found myself crying while listening to Sera’s story and your advice. As someone who is also a ‘writing procrastinator’ who fears success and failure – and the potential of this being the moneymaker one day – this hit very close to home. Your advice proves to be invaluable and I’ve saved the episode to re-listen and absorb the advice any time I’m hitting a road block.
Wow, thank you so much for this lovely comment, Alyx! It made our day! And I’m so glad that this episode landed so well with you. You’re very welcome! 🙂
