My (Rachel’s … though Kristen will second me on this) secret and incredibly nerd-tastic fantasy is to be able to pause time and just … do nothing. And by nothing, I mean sleep, read a book, eat, and watch so much Vampire Diaries & Scandal & Mindy Project that I’m lulled in to a mindlessly happy TV coma (so many hot men, and all the time in the world. Heaven).

Shortly after I start fantasizing about this, I remember why it’s happening: I’m burnt out. Tired. My batteries have been drained too low, and (like the good introvert that I am) I need a lot of me-time doing nothing meaningful to charge me back up again.

TO BE TOTALLY HONEST, THAT’S HOW I FEEL AS I WRITE THIS. KRISTEN’S FEELING IT TOO.

I think the burn-out tends to hit hardest after we’ve expended a lot of creative energy.

Which makes sense, because we just launched the Passion Profile Quiz on Tuesday (have you taken it yet?). It required a lot of time and energy, and we’re incredibly excited about the result and about the feedback we’ve been getting.

BUT, we’re exhausted. Kristen’s headed to the beach with her family for a week to re-charge …

Last year's beach vacation -- so ready for a repeat

… and my birthday is coming up on Monday …

Late summer birthdays have always been awesome.
Late summer birthdays have always been awesome

… so we’re both giving ourselves permission to do a whole lotta nothin’ for a few days.

SO THIS WEEK WE’VE DECIDED TO TAKE A BREAK FROM OUR REGULAR CLARITY GEMS, AND INSTEAD, ALLOW YOU (AND US!) TO PLAY CATCH UP.

We’d love for you to take the quiz (and share your results! Either by commenting below or Tweeting at us @clarityonfire).

And in case you’ve fallen behind on your regular reading this summer (who hasn’t?), we’ve each picked a recent blog favorite for you to enjoy:

Kristen’s pick: How to stop feeling like you should be farther in life by now

My pick: This makes us angry and depressed, at the same time

AND IF YOU NEED A MORAL TO THIS STORY:

Remember, you deserve a break every now and again.

Much Love,

Rachel + Kristen
